Introduction
Heat pump, a key technology to reduce impacts

Solution A
Hybrid system
Even when a full system retrofit is not possible, there are solutions to electrify and make more efficient - easily and quickly - at least part of the energy consumption related to comfort. Using smart thermostatic valves, it is indeed possible to connect existing radiators to an alternative generator and program scenarios that activate one or the other based on the external climatic conditions. Thanks to these solutions and a flexible control system, such as Olimpia Splendid’s OS Home, it is therefore possible to create a hybrid system where the comfort produced by the gas boiler alternates with that generated by air-to-air heat pumps without external units of the Unico® range: a full-electric, efficient technology that is easy to install and that has a reduced architectural impact.

Solution B
Air-to-air system
Air-to-air heat pumps without external units electrify and make comfort more efficient without major masonry work, without needing to occupy space on balconies or terraces, and without requiring intervention in all rooms at the same time. Unico® by Olimpia Splendid is a complete range of solutions for system retrofit: maximum powers up to 3.2 kW in heating mode 3.5 kW in cooling mode, horizontal or vertical layouts, and various installation possibilities make them suitable for any project. And to guarantee the heating output even in particularly harsh climatic conditions, versions with a built-in 2kW electric heating element are available. Finally, built-in mechanical ventilation units allow for air exchange with heat recovery.

Solution C
Air-water system
For a complete system overhaul, air-water heat pumps combined with fan coil convector type terminal units are the ideal solution. Sherpa range heat pumps by Olimpia Splendid stand our for their double cooling circuit, which allows for the parallel production of comfort and DHW. This technology boosts efficiency thanks to heat recovery during cooling, increases the self-consumption of energy produced by photovoltaics, increases the quantity of DHW available and reduces overall dimensions. To cool, heat and dehumidify rooms all year round, Olimpia Splendid offers fan coil convectors that operate via forced convection and, during winter, also via natural convection and radiation (i.e. with the fan off).
