Last year saw the launch on the European market of a new generation of heat pump air conditioners without outdoor unit, born from Olimpia Splendid's long industrial and commercial experience, with the aim of rewriting future standards and making air conditioning even more beautiful, quiet, efficient and sustainable. And the result has won several awards: the important technological evolution of Unico Evo has won the MCE Excellence Awards, while the renewed design, the result of collaboration between Olimpia Splendid and Marco Michele Rossi of Newtone Architects, has now been selected for the Archiproducts Design Awards.
'In the world of design, fashion and luxury, the longevity of a design brand is the result of an abstract and conceptual intuition that begins as a sketch, takes shape and finally becomes a collector's classic,' explains Rossi. 'The volume of the new Unico can be described by a process of subtractive synthesis of the elements that make up the outer shell, following a path of standardisation of details, simplification of shapes and assemblies. A new formal minimalism that aims to further integrate the relationship between aesthetics and function. The flap merges with the front panel, becoming part of a single coherent horizon, with a texture characterised by a tactile relief that is the only visible graphic sign of a sober coat designed to convey elegance and distinction.'
The Unico Evo's monobloc body, recognisable by its totally flat aesthetics, with integrated backlit display and depth reduced to just 18 cm, will also be the protagonist of the range expansion coming in 2025. In addition to the first sizes with R290 refrigerant circuit and capacities up to 2.5 kW in cooling mode, the new year will see the launch of more powerful models (up to 3.1 kW) with R32 refrigerant and optional modulating electric heater, which will position Unico as an increasingly effective solution for managing air conditioning in all seasons.
